About Lidia Zappala
Founded by Lidia Zappala
Lidia Zappala, Speech Pathologist at Kids Talk Speech Pathology, graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from the University of Queensland in 2000. She is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and a member of Speech Pathology Australia.
Lidia is passionate about helping children build confidence and become effective communicators. She brings over 20 years of experience working with children under five and school-aged children, across schools, community health, and private practice in both Australia and England.
She is committed to staying current with evidence-based practices and ongoing professional development. Lidia is trained in several treatment approaches including DIR Floortime, the Lidcombe Program, and Sounds-Write (a linguistic phonics program). She is also a Hanen Certified Speech Pathologist and has delivered the parent training program It Takes Two to Talk as well as the teacher training program Learning Language and Loving It.
As a mother of two, Lidia’s personal journey as a parent deeply informs her professional approach. This lived experience shapes her commitment to ensuring that therapy is not only effective but also supportive and tailored to each child’s needs. She values working in partnership with families to support communication and feeding skill development in everyday life.
